Today, I’ve got a big armful of books to return to the library. Most of them are un-read. This happens because whenever I see an interesting book online, I immediately put a hold on it at the library. This means that I’m usually swimming in potentially interesting material. It all goes on the “Library” shelf of our main floor book case.
Sometimes, I read the stuff.
Sometimes, I don’t read the stuff.
In any event, it all gets added to the borrowing history. If I ever want to go back and look at something, I can readily find it. If nothing else, this habit of borrowing books, reading some, skimming others, and ignoring a whole heap of them, keeps the books active in the library system.
