I recently got a copy of The Techniques of Tablet Weaving by Peter Collingood. I put it on the shelf beside The Manual of Braiding by Noémi Speiser. It turns out that their authors were close friends and corresponded extensively.
There is something really striking about these books. They are encyclopedic overviews of the subjects which they cover. There is a huge amount of research behind each of them. I’m totally guessing, but I’d put it at over ten thousand hours each.
I can’t believe how much information each book contains.
